Just thought I’d leave a note for those of you wanting or thinking about Cesar(10/02) and Audrey’s (10/20) birthdays. Below I’m including individual lists for each of them. What both of them would enjoy are DVDs and CDs– both of which you can send via snail mail. You can also send iTune gift cards, though iTunes (or anything really) takes a bazillion days to download, and considering I don’t have my own internet any more, it may not be worth it until I get back to the States.
Cesar:
Tshirts (Size XS or S from American Eagle, Aeropostle, Hollister or Abercrombie)
Employees and Jobs (I realize this is not really a gift anyone can give, but it might give you an idea for a creative gift)
USA Greencard (see above parenthesis)
What he mostly needs are clothes because Brazil is really hard on clothing. Gift cards to Lowes and Home Depot may still be valuable, as we never know what we might have to purchase to get our business restarted. Along those lines, winter clothes (both social and work) can be sent to our USA address.
Summer clothes/ DVDs/ Christian CDs can be sent here to Brazil
Anything heavy or large orfor when we come back, including gift cards we can’t use online (any online gift cards can be sent here), should be sent to our USA address. I will post both addresses below.
Audrey:
Does not need clothes. She got 2 more large sacks of adorable hand-me-downs, so that is taken care of. Shoes, however, are a need need need. Brazil is really hard on shoes. White shoes just won’t survive very long, so dark pinks, brown, blacks…. Dress, social, sandals.
Cute kids DVDs will go a long way. Light-weight toys, small things can be sent here….
Gift cards to Toys R Us, Babies R Us, and similar stores would make for an awesome welcome home for her when we go back. I’m hoping to have/get
A princess potty training potty
A comfy toddler chair for the living room
Toys– lots of them…. She has stuffed animals and a leap frog laptop, and that’s about it.
Bath Toys– fun ones for her to be able to enjoy bath time again
A toddler bed set
One of those plastic bike/car things that kids love
Storage for toys
Basically it’s like she’s being born again. Her room will consist of her bed, her dresser, and that’s all we’ve got for now.
Books are always good, but please send them to our USA address as they weigh quite a bit and I have an okay selection already with me.
I don’t know much about kids toys yet because the selection here is slim to none and the simplest things are super expensive here. Just know that Audrey is super girly, loves makeup, shoes, prretty sparkling things, taking care of her stuffed animals, but she also loves balls, puppies, horsies, and cars (please try to keep these things at least a bit girly…). haha
Anyway, if you were thinking of these dates, thank you bunches! We appreciate your prayers more than anything. Also, a letter of support or difficulty signed and e-mailed to both me and my lawyer will go a long way if you were wanting to do something, but don’t have the finances. Anything that might help our process or things in the USA are appreciated to the nth degree!
