International Tot Tickets: No Biggy, Schmiggy

So I went to buy my tickets today and have been planning this for a while. Only after buying the tickets did I realize– toddlers (under 2 years of age) riding on a parent’s lap need to actually have their own ticket when traveling internationally and, yes, it does cost (about 10% of a full-priced ticket). Since I’d already bought my tickets on Priceline, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get a ticket for Audrey and that we’d have to find more expensive tickets that allowed her to be included (according to Priceline, they cannot sell the discounted tickets for lap babies). My advice? Go United!
Woohoo! I mean, I already knew that I enjoyed their cheaper/free luggage policy and their frequent flyer miles, but who knew they were so great to work with over the phone? I just called them up (okay, so I called them and they redirected me to Continental, because the flights I’m on are run by Continental, but in about a year that won’t even make a difference– they’ll be the same… I think), and it was as easy as buying any other ticket (except cheaper– about $143). No prob, Bob! They’ve got her added to our itinerary with a confirmation number and everything and Voila! We’ve finally purchased our tickets! Now on to the next expense (see following post for all the expenses involved in an intercultural family trip).
